Babies On The Brink

Will babies overlook their own perception of a dangerous situation if their parent reassures them it’s safe? This experiment from the University of California looked at how important a parent’s reaction and emotions are to a baby when it comes to making sense of the world! They took babies are 9-12 month and put them in a situation where they had to crawl over a “visual cliff” with what appeared to be a steep drop (even though there was a glass covering) to get to a toy on the other side.
